  • About the Florida Project

In 1996, a group of genealogists organized the Florida GenWeb Project, modelled after a project originally started in the state of Kentucky. The idea was to provide a single entry point for all counties in Florida, where collected databases and information on genealogy in the state could be stored. At the same time, volunteers were found who were willing to coordinate the collection of   data.

My name is Darrel R. Bell, I am the Interim Coordinator for Union County.  I presently host several Florida Counties.  Union County is full of mystery from a Genealogical and Historical aspect.  I hope to be able to entertain each and everyone by pleasing your individual interest of this counties genealogy and history.  Feel free to contact me with any subject matter you may wish to contribute to this site and/or the Florida GenWeb Archives.   Presently Florida is ranked #10 regarding Archived Materials.  So lets work together by making Union County and Florida #1.  I will be making frequent site upgrades, primarily on the weekends, in order meet this scheduled time please submit any information no later than Thursday evening 12:00 E.S.T.  Thanks  Darrel R. Bell
