This is the place to start when doing genealogical research in Seminole County. Your help is needed to make this page as helpful and complete as it can be. My name is Darrel R. Bell, and I am again the County Coordinator for Seminole County. All the information you find here is from volunteers and we wish to thank them for all their hard work in gathering and sharing this information with us. I have limited access to Seminole County information as I do not live in the local area. However, if you have any newspapers, books, maps, or other information that would be useful to other researchers, please let me know.

Introduction
In 1913, when Seminole County was carved from Orange County, Sanford continued as the county seat. Seminole County is located in the heart of Central Florida, only 15 minutes north of Orlando. Seminole County enjoys a hospitable climate year-round. Our average temperature is 72 with average seasonal temperatures for winter, 62; spring, 76; summer 82 and fall, 75. Seminole County is only a short drive from beautiful Atlantic Coast Beaches and some of Florida's hottest theme parks and attractions. The arrival in Orange County of Martin Marietta Corporation's aerospace factory in the 1950s and Disney World in the 1970s caused rapid growth in industry and tourism, which spilled over into Seminole County. Seminole County is currently home to the incorporated cities of Sanford, Altamonte Springs, Lake Mary, Heathrow, Oviedo, Winter Springs and Longwood. Lake Monroe in Sanford serves as the gateway to the St. Johns River. Seminole County also boasts over 2000 lakes and waterways.

If you would like to learn more visit the Seminole County Convention and Visitor's Bureau

USGenWeb Project
Officially established in June 1996, the USGenWeb Digital Library (USGenWeb Archives TM) was developed to present actual transcriptions of public domain records on the Internet. This huge undertaking is the cooperative effort of volunteers who either have electronically formatted files on census records, marriage bonds, wills, and other public documents, or are willing to transcribe this information to contribute. Files are being added everyday. If you have transcriptions to contribute, please contact Darrel R. Bell.
Please read the guidelines for file contributions. The files need to be in ASCII text format, and will be converted by the state archive manager if in another form. Our thanks to RootsWeb.Com for providing the free server space, and the hundreds of volunteers.

Bell Genealogy
The genealogy of the Bell Family of Florida.
