Pinellas County is situated on a peninsula that forms the western shore of Tampa Bay and is bordered to the north by Pasco County, to the east by Hillsborough County and to the south by Tampa Bay. The Sunshine Skyway Bridge, a focal point of the Tampa Bay Area, spans Tampa Bay connecting Pinellas County and Manatee County. Pinellas County enjoys a mild, sub-tropical climate and has some of the most beautiful white sand beaches in the world.

1911 brought about the creation of Pinellas County from the westernmost part of Hillsborough County due to the residents disgust with the lack of services available to them. Please keep this in mind when researching, if what you are looking for is before October 1911, you must look for it in Hillsborough County.
