The Cemetery lists for both Okaloosa and Walton counties have been somewhat rearranged with map coordinates on as many of them as possible. If anyone knows the locations of the remainder or has a Legal Survey that they can do look-ups in, we would appreciate hearing about it. Most of the rural cemeteries are noted on the county maps the state sells. You may access their website at http://www.dot.state.fl.us/publcat/manuals/pub-cmap.htm. There you can get the list of available maps, with pricing and instructions. They are 30 cents per page. The reason the cemetery listings are broken up is because they are in order by where they may be found. Sorry for the confusion! The following are to be found in the "Okaloosa County Florida Cemeteries, Vols I-III" compiled by the GSOC, unless otherwise noted: Almarante Laurel Hill Sec 7, T5N, R22W Antioch Crestview Sec 35, T3N, R24W Beal Memorial Ft. Sorry! Black Creek, Euchee Valley Presbyterian, Pleasant Grove R21W, T5N( (Black), and Red Bay have been surveyed by Mr. and Mrs. William Steadley Campbell and may be purchased from them directly. (Proceeds will go to the Presb. Youth Camp.) PO Box 68, Argyle, FL 32422 The following can be found at the DeFuniak Library: (Also a similiar set of surveys can be found at the Family History Center in DeFuniak Springs. I thought I had copied that list also, but can't find it at the moment. If I do find it, will post. It contains Crowder Chapel - R21W, T3N north of I-10) in addition to the following. We also found other cemeteries throughout the woods, that are not listed. Among them is an old one at a Liberty church. When I get time, I will try to reference any that are marked on county maps.) Take CR 278 just south of the I10/US331N intersection heading west. The road forks after about 2 miles. Stay to the left on the pavement. Go south about 2 miles and you meet a dirt road straight ahead going south, The Cem. is just ahead maybe a quarter of a mile. Its about 1.5 miles north of the reservation or 1.5 miles east according to which ever way you want to look at the map. Its located in Range 19 West, Township 2 North, on the Southwest Corner of Section 21. Got this from Duke Vickery's web site. It could be a different cemetery? I went by the location this afternoon on my way back from Florala. There is a cemetery at the location that appears to be associated with the Alaqua United Methodist which dates from 1827. Old graves are evident in the cemetery and I would expect that it is as old or older than the church. May the wrong site--good luck. Pleasant Grove (Black) R21W, T5N The following is from an old list that I found at the DeFuniak Clerk's office (it is in the back room and must be requested). I am sorry, but I have no coordinates and some of them are in Holmes county. I thought it might be wise to include it, tho. Perhaps someone at the Clerk's office can tell you where they are.
