Midway Cemetery

Contributed for use in UsGenWeb and Manatee FLGenWeb archives by a wonderful volunteer:Melissa Brewer

Directions: (This small cemetery is south of SR 70 on private property.)

Notes: The community of Midway once had a church, but it was torn down in favor of another church building in downtown Myakka City. The community of Midway no longer exists -- it's been gobbled up by the all-encompassing postal delivery name "Myakka City." What remains of this cemetery is listed below. It is on private property, within a fenced area. The headstones were moved in the 1980s approximately 300' from where they are now located. There are other funerary pieces scattered on the ground. The actual tombstone inscriptions are included below for their poignancy.
