Gillette Cemetery is on the West side of
Ellenton-Gillette Road between Moccasin Wallow Rd. and Rocky Payne Rd.
It is
near the town of Ellenton, FL, but the
address is Palmetto, FL in Manatee County.
The cemetery is called the Gillette Cemetery
(originally the Gillette Family Cemetery), but then became a community
cemetery
with earliest tombstone of 1869. There
was once a Gillette community; none existent today.
Finally, the cemetery was named the "Gillette Cemetery, Incorporated."
A trust fund was established for maintenance.
This is not a complete
listing of burials! Please if you know of anyone buried in this
cemetery send there names and headstone info
and I
will add it to this ASAP.
