The location of the cemeteries below are from the Book titled "Survey of Taylor County, Florida Cemeteries by Jessie
H. Paulk and Delma Wilson Paulk". The location in
RED below each Cemetery entry is believed to be the location
furnished by the WPA Project. Some of the roads are gone or renamed and I have included this description only as
an item of historical interest.
ADAMS CEMETERY - This cemetery is also known to the local people as Scott Cemetery. It is located behind
the Earnest Houck and Billy LaValle homes. It can be reached by traveling from the intersection of U.S. 98
and U.S. 19 in Perry, Fl. for about 8 miles south on U. S. 19. Just past the intersection of Conty 356 and
U. S. 19 (Spring Warrior Church of Christ Rd.), on the east side of the highway, there is a dirt road leading
up to and past Mr. Billy LaValle's home. Continue down this road for about 2/10 mile, turn left and the
cemetery is located on your right about 1/10 mile from this gate.
ADAMS CEMETERY - From the springs in Fenholloway, go south, crossing bridge; turn right,
go 4 miles, then left and continue 1/4 mile to cemetery which lies on the right side of the road.
SHILOH CEMETERY - Cemetery is located north of Perry, Fl. Courthouse just off US221. Go about 2.8
miles north on US221 and turn right for 2/10 miles on Shiloh Cemetery Rd. Cemetery is on your right.
SHILOH CEMETERY - From Boyd, go south on State road 35 for 2.5 miles. Turn right (east) on dirt road and
continue 5/10 mile to cemetery which lies 16 feet on left, which is south of the road.
PISGAH CEMETERY -From the intersection of US19 and US98, go north on US19 for about 4 miles, turn right
on County Road 360. Church and Cemetery is about 1/2 mile on your right.
PISGAH CEMETERY - From Secotan, go SE on State Rd 19 for one mile, turn left (east) and continue 5/10 mile
to cemetery, which lies fifty feet on the right (south) side of the road.
CARLTON CEMETERY - From the intersection of US19 and US98, you travel south on US19 for about 3 1/2 miles
to Road FL 30A, turn right for about 1/12 miles. Cemetery is located on the right side of the road.
CARLTON CEMETERY - From the courthouse in Perry, go south four miles on old road, turn left three hundred
feet this side of Fenholloway River Bridge, Cemetery lies one-fourth mile on the left side of the road.
STANALAND CEMETERY - This family burial plot is located north of the Stanley Bridge culvert just off of Fish
Creek Grade. It can be reached by traveling west from the Salem, FL Post Office for about 10 miles toward Keaton
Beach. Turn left on Stanley Bridge Road for about 2/10 mile and then turn right for about 2/10 mile. Cemetery is
located in an oak grove.
STANALAND CEMETERY - From Keaton Beach, go northeast on dirt road for 2 3/10 mile. Turn right (east) on dirt
road, go 2 2/10 mile, turn right (south) on dirt road and continue 3/10 mile to cemetery which lies fifty
feet on the right side of road.
SALEM CEMETERY - This cemetery is located on the east side of US19 about 1/2 mile north of the Salem, FL Post Office.
SALEM CEMETERY - From the town of Salem, go north on U.S. Highway 19 for one mile to cemetery, which lies 50
feet on the right side of the road.
POOR SPOT CEMETERY - This cemetery was also known as the "Prospect Cemetery." It is located west of Perry, FL. From
the intersection of US19 and US98, go west on US98 for approximately 6 miles, turn left on Poor Spot Cemetery Road
and go about 1 mile. Road ends in Cemetery.
POOR SPOT CEMETERY - From Perry, go southwest 1 1/4 mile, turn south on dirt road and continue 1 4/10 mile to
cemetery, which lies 100 feet on the right side of the road.
STEINHATCHEE CEMETERY - Use Old directions
STEINHATCHEE CEMETERY - From the post office in Steinhatchee, go east on State Rd 69 for four miles, turn left
and continue 30 feet to cemetery.
ROCKYFORD CEMETERY - This cemetery is located in the northwest part of Taylor County. It can be reached from
Perry, FL by traveling north of the intersection of US!( and US(* for 17 miles in US19. Turn left on Mt. Gilead
Rd., go past Mt. Gilead Church and you will intersect the Bert Whiddon Rd. after about 3 1/2 miles west of US19.
Turn left on this road and go about 3 1/2 miles, cemetery is on your left on this road and can be seen from the road.
ROCKYFORD CEMETERY - From where State Rd. No 42 crosses the Aucilla River, go south on State Rd. No. 42 for half
a mile, turn left and continue a half mile to cemetery.
LAKE BIRD CEMETERY - This cemetery is located just east of US221 about 10 miles north of the Perry, FL Courthouse.
It is behind the Lake Bird United Methodist Church on Lake Bird Road.
LAKE BIRD CEMETERY - From the post office in Lake Bird, go north on State Rd. No, 35 for 1/2 mile. Then turn right
on graded road, this side of concrete bridge and continue 3/4 mile to cemetery which lies 50 ft on the left side of road.
OAKLAND CEMETERY - This church and cemetery is located west of Perry, FL and north of US98. It can be reached by traveling
west of the US98 and US19 intersection for about 13 miles on US98, turn right on Cabbage Grove Road ( a very rough dirt road)
and go about 2 1/2 mile. Turn right again for about 1/4 mile to church.
OAKLAND CEMETERY - From Blue Springs, go northwest two and 2/10 miles, turn right on dirt road and continue 1/4 mile to
cemetery.
KINSEY CEMETERY - This cemetery can be located by traveling approximately 2.5 miles east of the Taylor County Courthouse,
Perry, FL on Green Street. You will pass the Springhill Cemetery on your right (at the intersection of Springhill Rd). The
cemetery is located approximately 220 yards south of the road near the current Florida Power Line right-of-way. There are
two seperate wrought iron fences enclosures, one for the Faulkner and one for the Kinsey families.
KINSEY CEMETERY - From the courthouse in Perry, go east two miles on Morgan-Denmark clay road to old Dr. Baxter's farm.
Cemetery lies 690 feet from right of road in field.
NEW HOPE CEMETERY - This cemetery is located on the site of the New Hope Church before it disbanded. The cemetery is well
kept and very pretty. It is located on the west side of US19 about 8 miles south of the intersection of US19 and US98 in
Perry, FL. The cemetery can be seen from the main highway, US19, and can be reached by turning right off US19 onto a dirt
road that ends at the cemetery gate.
NEW HOPE CEMETERY - From Athena, go north on U.S. Highway 19 for 2 miles. Turn left (west) on dirt road and continue 2/10 mile
to cemetery, which lies 20 feet on right of (north) side of the road.
PLEASANT GROVE CEMETERY - From the intersection of US19 and US98, travel north on US19 for 15.5 miles, turn right on FL14 for 1/5
mile, church and cemetery is located on your right.
PLEASANT GROVE CEMETERY - From Eridu go east on the dirt road for 5/10 miles to cemetery, which lies 16 feet on the right which
is south side of the road.
HENDERSON CEMETERY - This cemetery is located on Judge Robert Henderson's homeplace. To reach the cemetery, go about 10.5 miles north
of Perry, FL Courthouse on US221 or go 3/10 miles past the Lake Bird Road; turn right up a private road and go 1/2 mile from US221. The
cemetery is in a pine grove about 55 yards off this private road. It has a wrought iron fence surrounding the cemetery.
HENDERSON CEMETERY - From Lake Bird, go north on State Rd. 35 for 3/10 mile. Turn right (east) on dirt road and continue 4/10 mile
to cemetery, which lies 16 feet on right (south) of the road.
MILLS CEMETERY - Use location below.
MILLS CEMETERY - From Steinhatchee, go north on State Rd. 69 for 4 8/10 miles, turn left (west) on dirt road and continue 1 9/10 miles
to cemetery, which lies 1/10 mile on left side of road.
SPRING WARRIOR CEMETERY -
Church and cemetery is located south of Perry, FL. From the intersection of US98 and US19, go about 7 1/5 miles
south on US19, turn left on County Road 356 and go about 1/2 mile, the church and cemetery is on your right.
SPRING WARRIOR CEMETERY - From the courthouse in Perry, go south on US 19 for 7 miles, crossing small bridge, turn right on sand road
and continue 500 feet to cemetery, which lies 6 feet on right side of road.
LAND CEMETERY - This cemetery is located behind the Andrew Wood property but was destroyed during logging operations and the old wooden
markers/stakes were overrun by cattle. It is now planted over in pine trees. It can be reached by traveling west on Fish Creek Grade for
about 3.1 miles from the Salem, FL Post Office (intersection of Fish Creek Grade and US19). Turn right on Andrew Wood Road and go about
8/10 mile to the second drive to his house.
LAND CEMETERY - From Carbur, on US Highway 19, go south on dirt road for 2 2/10 miles. Turn right (SW) and continue one mile to cemetery,
which lies 30 feet on the south side of the road in the woods.
DEVIL'S WOODYARD CEMETERY - This cemetery is now called Woodyard Cemetery. It can be reached by traveling west on Fish Creek Grade for
about 3.1 miles from the Salem, FL Post Office (intersection of Fish Creek Grade and US19). Turn left on Tower Road and go about 4.7
miles south toward the Fire Tower. Turn right on dirt road and cemetery is located about 1/4 mile west of Tower Road.
SEALEY CEMETERY - From the Salem, FL Post Office, go about 2 miles north on US19 and turn left on the Jodie Morgan Rd. Cemetery is located
approximately 7 1/2 miles west of US19 on this road and cemetery can be seen from the road.
SEALEY CEMETERY - From Keaton Beach, go north-east on dirt road for 5 miles, turn left (west) and continue one mile to cemetery, which
lioes 20 feet on the left side of road.
O'STEEN CEMETERY - This is a very old deserted cemetery. It is located approximately 1/6 mile north of Burns Funeral Home on the Johnson
Stripling Road and about 600 ft off the road to your right in an oak grove. There are no markers.
O'STEEN CEMETERY - From the courthouse in Perry, go 3 miles north on Johnson-Clay Road to cemetery, which lies 600 feet on the right side
of the road.
HARDEE CEMETERY - From the Perry, FL Courthouse, go out US221 for about 3.8 miles and turn right on Roberts Aman Road (Midway Church Road);
follow this road for about 1.3 miles (go past the church); turn right and cross a little wooden bridge and the cemetery is located in an oak
grove about 2/10 mile south of the Roberts Aman Road. It looks like a pond/swamp but the cemetery is here.
HARDEE CEMETERY - From Boyd, go south on State Rd. 35 for 1 5/10 miles. Turn left (east) on dirt road, go 1 1/10 mile, then right, (which is
south) road on another dirt road and continue 3/10 mile to cemetery, which lies in field.
HENDRY CEMETERY - This cemetery is located about 3/10 miles north of the intersection of US221 north and FL 14 at Shady Grove. Turn right on
Hendry Cemetery Road.
HENDRY CEMETERY - From Post Office in Shady Grove, go east 1/4 mile, crossing South Georgia RR, to new graded State Road 35. Turn north, go
one mile, then right on graded road and continue 300 ft. to cemetery gate.
INDIAN SPRINGS CEMETERY - This cemetery is difficult to locate if you do not know the area. From the intersection of US98 and US19, go
south on US19 8 miles and then turn right on Keaton Beach Road (County Road 361) and go 8 miles and then turn left on Fox Hunter's Grade.
This is a graded dirt road and you go one mile and turn left on a field road for 2/10 of a mile. The cemetery is to your right and it is
located in a hickory grove.
INDIAN SPRINGS CEMETERY - From Adams Beach, go north on State Rd 35 for four miles, turn right (east) and continue one mile to cemetery,
which lies 30 feet on south side of road.

STATION FIELD CEMETERY - From Shady Grove, go south on state rd 35 for one mile. Turn right (west) on dirt road and continue 1 2/10 mile to
cemetery, which lies 16 feet on south side of the road.
STEPHENS CEMETERY - This small family cemetery is located inside the town limits of Steinhatchee on north FL51 about 2.5 miles from the Post Office.
It is located on the left side of the road and is enclosed within a wooden fence. The graves are within this enclosure but has a metal fence
surrounding them.
STEPHENS CEMETERY - From intersection of US Highway 19 and State Rd. 69 go south on State Rd. 69 ten miles to Steinhatchee. Turn west on State
Rd. 69 and go 5/10 mile, then right on dirt road and continue 3/10 mile to the cemetery,
which lies on the left side of the road.
SAND HILL CEMETERY - This cemetery is located southwest of Perry, FL off the Fox Hunter's Grade. From US98 and US19, go about 4.5 miles south on
US19, turn right on Keaton Beach Road (County Road 361) and go 8 miles to Fox Hunter's Grade. Turn left on this graded road and follow this road 3.6
miles (do not turn or branch off but remain on this main road), where you will make a sharp right turn (almost back the way you came). Go straight
on this road for exactly one mile you will come to the cemetery which is located on your left.
SAND HILL CEMETERY - From Athena go south-west on dirt road for 7 miles, turn right and go one mile to cemetery, which lies 50 feet on the south
side of the road.
WILLCOX CEMETERY - (Wilcox Cemetery) This cemetery is located within the city limits of Perry, FL. It can be reached by going 4 blocks north of the
Courthouse on Jefferson St., turn left for 5 blocks on Wilcox St.
WILLCOX CEMETERY - From the courthouse in Perry go north three blocks on Jefferson St. Turn left (west) go 4 blocks to end of pavement and continue
500 feet to cemetery, which lies 10 ft on the right of the road.
