Lookup Volunteers to visit local Courthouse, and Libraries to look up simple requests and at time secure copies and mail out.

To supply Data files for the Highlands County page that with your permission can be posted in an effort to make connections for your own linesand to help others.

To form groups to survey the Following Cemeteries in Highlands County: Oak Hill, Hillcrest, Venus Methodist Church Cemetery, Bougainvillea Cemetery and all others in or around Highlands County.

People to pull and copy old Obits, marriages, Births from the local newspapers for Avon Park, Sebring, and Lake Placid.

People to help transcribe old wills held by the Highlands County Probate office.

People to visit memorial parks with monuments of our Ancestorswho served in the wars and lived at one time or served out of HighlandsCounty.

Any donations of any militia Roster that members of Highlands County may hold a copy of.

Someone to look in current local telephone directory and type up and submit a list of the Funeral Homes.

Someone from each City or Township to collect and submit a list of past Public Officials and their term of office for Highlands County.

Someone to help purchase, transcribe and submit the 1925 Highlands County Tax Roll held on film at the Property Appraiser's office. ***Note please I have page 1-8 also note that not all pages contain names as some land was owned by the Cities and Townships at the time.

Someone to help purchase, transcribe and submit the 1926 tax index held at same. These were the first taxes for Highlands County. Prior to this Tax records were held in Desoto County.These will serve as a substitute for the US Census.

Also please note: The above information is to include all of Highlands County, Not just Avon Park, Lake Placid, and Sebring but also Venus, Lorida, DeSoto City, Spring Lake, Highcora, Pine Island Hope I have not left anyone out, if I have just please let me know.
