FLGenWeb Project, Inc.

Greetings, I am the  coordinator for Hamilton County, Florida; my name is Darrel R. Bell. I live in Suwannee County, Florida and I'm originally from Lafayette County; however I have Ancesteral ties to Hamilton County.   I'm in the process of gathering as much information as I can and if nothing else I'll be able to provide Look-Up Capabilities from information that cannot be placed on this web site.

I ask you to bear with me, while I prepare an exciting web site for one of the many Pioneer Gateways, that was used in the the early 1800's for pioneer's coming into the Florida Territory and later the State of Florida. At the bottom of the page you will find e-mails and links provided to further aide you in your research. I am always open for comments, suggestions and request.

THE FLORIDA GENWEB PROJECT

In 1996, a group of genealogists organized the Florida GenWeb Project, modeled after a project originally started in the state of Kentucky. The idea was to provide a single entry point for all counties in Florida, where collected databases and information on genealogy in the state could be stored.

At the same time, volunteers were found who were willing to coordinate the collection of data. It is our aim and desires to maintain the standards that were set forth in providing free access for geanealogy researchers.  I share this goal to the upmost.

As the FLGenWeb State Coordinator it is my responsibility to ensure that this County and all other County Web Sites maintain a high degree of information for our internet visitors. Should viewer have the desire to a volunteer, we are in need of look-up volunteers, census and headstone transcribers. For more information click on the above highligted link.

Look-up Volunteers Needed

Please remember I don't live in Hamilton County. Therefore, unfortunately, I'll be  unable to do many special request look-ups.  I would like to enlist volunteers who live in  Hamilton County and have available materials who, and who are willing to do lookups for people. Please, if you can do this let me know. Please put HAMILTON FL VOLUNTEER in the subject box.   Please view the information pertaining to: LOOK-UPS.
