PISTOL DUEL SATURDAY NIGHT
The Citizen-Reporter - Lake City, FL - Friday - December 7, 1917

On last Saturday night at about 10 o'clock a shooting affair occurred in this city near the fire station.    Frank Callahan, a young man from the southern end of the county proved to be the unfortunate victim with a bullet wound in his head piercing the brain.   The patient was taken to the Harkness Hospital where the ball was extracted.   The possibility is that Callahan will recover.

It is not definitely known who did the shooting, but suspicion is against Morris Wiggins, a young man from the northern end of the county.   Wiggins was arrested and placed in county jail awaiting further developments.   Only one shot was fired with the above results.
